It's been a long time since I shared some headlines, so here you go:

• Amy Poehler and Will Arnett Expecting a Baby (The tot is bound to be one funny baby!  Amy, go for the epidural!  LOL)
• Miley Cyrus says Vanity Fair photo spread embarrasses her (She is 15... where exactly were her parents?  As the mother of a young daughter, I'm quite sure I would have stopped the photo shoot at, "Miss Cyrus, please take off your shirt.")
• R.E.M., Nine Inch Nails to play Voodoo festival (I heard the new R.E.M. CD, and it's awesome.  Would LOVE to hear them live again.  Michael and the crew put on an amazing show.)
• 'Idol' coaches panel: The finalists mine Neil Diamond (The Legend coaches the newbies.  Can't wait to watch and to read Dixie's recap!  Sweet Caroline...)
• Call girl in Eliot Spitzer scandal files $10 million lawsuit (Wow, this is better than any made-for-tv movie.  This headline screams for a link to my favorite mommyblog post on the topic.)
• Oprah Spills Secrets of Tom Cruise Interview (Oprah AND Tom?  Two of my favorites...)

• 'Atonement' honored at Golden Globes (Loved the book, need to find a babysitter so I can catch the movie.)

• In the contest between laptop and PCs, an open and shut case (This LA Times story ends with a quote from LTV Mom, but the star is my best friend Vicki and her baby Danielle.)

• Late-night stars Leno, Letterman return (Watching Leno as I type... I am laughing out loud, which is a good sign.  Love the Jib-Jab skit... to BILLY JOEL, not We are the World.)
• Spears' lawyers ask to quit custody case (Oh, Brit, please get some help.)
• Netflix to deliver directly to TV (Now, this is cool.)
• Shuffling of characters energizes "Law & Order" (Watched both new episodes tonight, with the new actors, and L&O is still a success!  Extra love to Jesse L. Martin.)
• MC Hammer's next act: Tech entrepreneur (I'm just glad Mr. Hammer didn't see my rendition of "U Can't Touch This" at the New Year's Eve party.  All I can say is... four-inch stiletto heels!)

Holiday madness, lots-o-work, and the hubby turns 40.  (Little time to blog.)  Here are the headlines grabbing my attention:

• 'The Office', 'Dexter' up for WGA Awards (The Office is pure genius, laugh-out-loud funny; those writers get my vote.)
• Filmmakers take risks for 'Kite Runner' (I am seeing a sneak-peek tomorrow night, blog review to come!  I loved the book, so expectations are high.)
• Fifty years on, Chipmunks squeak on to big screen (My three-year-old will be my excuse to see this movie re-make.  Plus, who doesn't love Jason Lee?)
• FAQs about writers strike (Interesting to follow...)
• Poststrike TV: Reality Shows, Game Shows, Reruns (I am watching Project Runway as I type.)
• Maria Menounos to host "Clash of the Choirs" reality series (I am so excited for this show. I love gospel and choir music, so this will be a great show for the holiday season!)

LTV Mom Headlines

I am finally winding down from Thanksgiving madness and back-to-work blues.  Here are some headlines catching my eye and making me thankful I don't live in Hollywood:

• Tornado hits "Desperate Housewives (Okay, I've seen the previews for this show, and it looks terrible.  But, being the DH loyalist I am, I will fire-up the TiVo and watch-away.  Let's hope I am wrong!)
• Pregnant Aguilera poses for Marie Claire (I think she looks absolutely beautiful and radiant!)
• "Tin Man" a bizarre update of "Wizard of Oz" (The original "Wizard" is now my daughter's favorite movie, but I think I will skip this version.  If you really want to see a remake, rent The Wiz.)
• Conan Keeping Late Night $hip Afloat (I heart Conan, and I really miss my night-time men: Jon, Jay and Conan.  It's worth noting that I've actually been *reading* before I go to bed... what a concept!)
• Dancing's Final Lap Goes to Helio (I wouldn't call myself an uber-fan of the Spice Girls, but Mel B. was robbed!)
• NBC Applying "Lipstick" in "ER" Space (Wow, first drama to bump ER since 1994!)
